Hastings Jews for Justice was out on the town in Hastings today, holding our first town centre stall to share our message with the wider community.
We were pleased to be able to give out a leaflet about our aims and beliefs, as well as lots of yummy cake and cookies baked by one of our members, to curious passers-by.
On the stall, we showed a number of photos of Jewish actions around the world in support of Palestinian liberation, demonstrating the strength and breadth of our movement.
There were many brilliant conversations and interactions with people on the street, some of whom were already aware of a growing momentum within Jewish communities to stand up against Israeli actions and speak out against genocide, apartheid and ethnic cleansing.
However, for some it was the first time they had been made aware of our existence and we were grateful for the opportunity to differentiate between Judaism and Zionism.
Thanks to all the people who supported us today - it was a very useful day of interactions and awareness-raising, a vital part of our work.
We will keep raising our voices to stand in solidarity with Palestinians and to insist on an end to the genocide and oppression being carried out in our names. See below to read the full text of our leaflet.
